Dance Company

Amfidromo Chorotheatro dance company was founded by choreographer Elena Christodoulidou in 2000 through her need for dancing and choreographic research. Amfidromo is one of the three companies which participated in the 1st contemporary dance platform (2000) organized by the Ministry of education and culture. The works of the company were awarded many times in the Cyprus contemporary dance platform , were presented in various festivals in Cyprus, Egypt, USA, Germany, Japan, Czech Republic, Greece, Israel, Romania, France and the works reflect the perception of the choreographer on the post-political role of art in the contemporary era. Since 2013 Amfidromo is based at Egomio Cultural Centre in Egkomi, Nicosia.
Amfidromo Chorotheatro is funded by the Minstry of Education and Culture of Cyprus. Amfidromo is implementing the program Alive & Kicking for intellectual disability during 2018-2019 in collaboration with universities and other organizations from France, Greece, Spain and Portugal.
The program is for adults with disabilities especially autism and mental retardation.
